Kitchen fitters in Surrey
We fit kitchens across Surrey: kitchens you have bought from any supplier, or complete kitchens we design, supply and fit, with every trade booked in the right order. Joining the kitchen and dining room in a 1930s semi, often with a peninsula and seating, is a common project. Larger detached houses tend to suit a supply-and-fit kitchen with an island, a boiling water tap, a separate utility and lighting planned in zones.
Kitchens in homes across Surrey
Typical properties here include 1930s semis, Victorian and Edwardian villas, detached family houses and new-build estates. 1930s semis often have a narrow kitchen beside the dining room, while larger detached houses and Edwardian villas may have room for an island or a separate utility.
Surrey's water is hard across most of the county, so limescale on taps and boiling water taps is common, and a scale-reducing filter is worth considering. Private roads, long drives and village lanes can be awkward for large lorries, while town-centre flats may need lift bookings and parking permits for delivery day.
Rules for kitchen work in Surrey
Fitting a new kitchen does not need planning permission in England. Listed building consent may be needed if the building is listed, and a new vent through the outside wall of a flat may need planning permission and the freeholder's consent. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and new circuits or a new consumer unit are notifiable under Part P, so they are certified through a competent person scheme or building control. New extraction should be designed to Approved Document F rates (about 30 litres per second for a hood ducted outside), a refit should not leave ventilation worse than before, and only Gas Safe registered engineers may connect a gas hob.
Listed buildings and conservation areas in older towns and villages may need consent for new vents, and flats in managed blocks usually need the freeholder's consent first.

Questions about kitchen fitting in Surrey
How much does kitchen fitting cost in Surrey?
Fitting a medium kitchen you have already bought costs around £2,900 to £4,000 including VAT in Surrey, based on prices in the South East. A mid-range kitchen supplied and fitted costs around £20,500 to £40,000. Your price is fixed in writing after a free survey visit.
Which towns in Surrey do you cover?
We cover the whole of Surrey, including Woking, Guildford, Esher, Redhill, Staines and Banstead. If your town is not listed, send us your postcode.
Do your prices include VAT?
Yes. All guide prices on this site include VAT at 20%, the standard rate for supplying and fitting a kitchen. They are national guide ranges, adjusted for your region on area pages and in the guide-price tool, and they are confirmed after a survey visit in an itemised written quote.
What if there is asbestos in my kitchen?
Homes built before 2000 may contain asbestos, for example in textured ceiling coatings, old floor tiles, some boiler cupboard boards and bitumen pads under old steel sinks. If your home is that age, an asbestos survey before strip-out is sensible. If asbestos is suspected or found, that area is left undisturbed until it has been tested and dealt with properly.
