Why kitchen installation for a Wimbledon home?
If the kitchen in your Wimbledon home is twenty years old, with tired doors and worn worktops, a full installation renews everything in one planned job.
When a Wimbledon kitchen needs new electrics, plumbing and tiling as well as units, one contract keeps those trades in the right order. We cover all of Wimbledon, including the SW19 postcode district, and travel out to neighbouring towns across Greater London.

What kind of kitchens do we fit in Wimbledon?
You will find Victorian and Edwardian terraces, conversion flats, mansion block flats and 1930s semis throughout Greater London. Victorian terraces often have a narrow galley beside the side return, while conversion flats and mansion blocks usually fit the kitchen into a small room or along one living-room wall.
Permit parking, red routes and flats without lifts are common, so parking suspensions, stair carries and lift bookings may need arranging before delivery day. London's mains water is hard, so limescale builds quickly on taps and boiling water taps, and a scale-reducing filter is worth planning in.
Do you need approval for kitchen installation in Wimbledon?
Fitting a new kitchen does not need planning permission in England. Listed building consent may be needed if the building is listed, and a new vent through the outside wall of a flat may need planning permission and the freeholder's consent. Electrical work must meet BS 7671, and new circuits or a new consumer unit are notifiable under Part P, so they are certified through a competent person scheme or building control. New extraction should be designed to Approved Document F rates (about 30 litres per second for a hood ducted outside), a refit should not leave ventilation worse than before, and only Gas Safe registered engineers may connect a gas hob.
Conservation areas are widespread across London, so a new extractor vent on a front wall may need permission, and leaseholders usually need the freeholder's written consent first.
Tips before you start
- If your house in Greater London is older, ask for the walls to be checked for level; out-of-true walls change how units and worktops are scribed.
- Clear the room and the route to it before fitting day, and arrange somewhere in your Wimbledon home for a kettle and microwave.
- Order stone worktops early in the plan, as templating can only happen once the base units are fixed.
- If the house was built before 2000, consider an asbestos survey before strip-out, especially with textured ceilings or old floor tiles.
Questions about kitchen installation in Wimbledon
How much does kitchen installation cost in Wimbledon?
Kitchen installation in Wimbledon typically costs £2,000 to £3,200 including VAT for a small kitchen of 5 to 10 units, fit only, based on prices in London. Larger or more involved jobs cost more, and your price is fixed in writing after a free survey visit.
Do you work near Wimbledon as well?
Yes. As well as Wimbledon itself, we cover the rest of Greater London and nearby towns such as Morden and Earlsfield. The process is the same wherever the kitchen is.
Can I use my kitchen during the installation?
Not for most of it. Once the old kitchen comes out there is no sink or cooker until the new one is connected, usually a week or two for an average kitchen. We plan the job so the water and power are off for as little time as possible, and we tell you which days will be the most disruptive.
How long does it take to install a kitchen?
Most kitchens take three to twelve days on site to fit, depending on the number of units and whether services are moving. Allow one to three weeks overall once electrics, plumbing, tiling and flooring are included, plus one to two weeks between templating and fitting if you choose stone worktops.
Will you fit a kitchen I have bought myself?
Yes. We fit kitchens bought from any retailer, trade counter or online supplier, flat-pack or rigid. On the survey we check the plan, and before fitting we check the delivery against it. Missing or damaged parts are for the supplier to replace, and we tell you straight away so the fit can be re-planned.
