Fit-only kitchen fitting in Belfast
From the survey to handover, fit-only kitchen fitting in Belfast is run by us as one job, with the fitters and trades booked in the right order.

When does fit-only kitchen fitting make sense in Belfast?
Plenty of homeowners in Belfast buy a kitchen in a sale or from an online supplier, then look for someone to fit it once the delivery date is booked.
If your kitchen is ordered for delivery to your Belfast home and the retailer does not offer fitting, fit only covers the labour to put it in properly. We cover all of Belfast, including the BT1, BT2, BT3, BT4, BT5 and BT6 postcode districts, and travel out to neighbouring towns across County Antrim.
What does fit-only kitchen fitting in Belfast include?
Every kitchen is different, so we confirm the scope in writing. Most jobs of this kind include:
- End panels, filler panels, plinths, cornice and light rail scribed and fitted
- Laminate or wood worktops cut, jointed, sealed and fixed down
- Packaging and offcuts cleared, with removal of the old kitchen available as an extra
- Doors and drawer fronts hung and adjusted, with handles drilled and fitted
- Base, wall and tall units positioned, levelled on their legs and fixed to the wall
- Sink, tap and appliances connected to the existing water, waste and power points
What should you budget for fit-only kitchen fitting in Belfast?
Use these ranges to plan your budget. They include VAT, reflect costs in Northern Ireland, and are firmed up once we have seen your Belfast kitchen. Prices in Northern Ireland usually come in below the national guide, as labour rates are lower than in the South East.

What kind of kitchens do we fit in Belfast?
Across County Antrim you will often find red-brick terraces, Victorian villas, post-war estate houses and rural bungalows, and each shapes the kitchen differently. Red-brick terraces in Belfast often have a narrow kitchen in the return, while estate houses and rural bungalows tend to have a separate kitchen with room for a table.
Mains water across most of County Antrim is soft, so limescale is less of a problem and taps and boiling water taps tend to stay cleaner. Terraced streets with entries at the back, city flats with booked lifts and country lanes can each affect deliveries, so the route for worktops is checked at the survey.
Do you need approval for fit-only kitchen fitting in Belfast?
In Northern Ireland, fitting a kitchen you have bought needs no planning permission or building control application when the services stay where they are. There is no notification scheme for domestic electrical work, but any new socket or circuit should be installed, tested and certified to BS 7671. Only a Gas Safe registered engineer may connect a gas hob, and Technical Booklet K sets out the ventilation guidance.
Listed buildings and conservation areas in older parts of Belfast and the county towns may need consent for new vents, and apartment owners usually need management consent.
Getting the most from your fit-only kitchen fitting
- Before your kitchen is delivered to your Belfast home, clear a dry room to store the boxes flat, away from damp garages and outbuildings.
- Book the fit for a date after the full delivery has arrived in County Antrim; a split delivery is a common reason for a fit stalling halfway.
- Ask your supplier for the full order list as well as the plan, so the fitter can check part numbers and not just unit sizes.
- If you chose stone worktops, the stone supplier templates and fits them after the base units are fixed, usually one to two weeks later.
Questions about fit-only kitchen fitting in Belfast
How much does fit-only kitchen fitting cost in Belfast?
Guide prices in Belfast are about £1,300 to £2,200 including VAT for a small kitchen of 5 to 10 units. The final price depends on the size of the kitchen and what is moving, and is set out in an itemised written quote.
Which parts of Belfast do you work in?
All of them. Our County Antrim coverage takes in the whole of Belfast, including the BT1, BT2, BT3, BT4, BT5 and BT6 postcode districts, as well as surrounding towns such as Castlereagh. If you are unsure, send us your postcode.
Do I need to order anything extra for a fit-only job?
Often, yes. Retail plans regularly leave out filler panels, end panels, plinths, cornice or light rail, legs and plinth clips, worktop joint strips or connector bolts, appliance door-fixing kits and the sink, tap and waste. On the survey we go through your order line by line and list anything missing, so it can be ordered before the fit rather than halting it halfway through.
Should I unpack my kitchen before the fitter arrives?
No. Leave everything in its packaging until fitting day. Sealed boxes protect doors and panels from knocks and dust, keep small parts with the right unit, and show that any damage happened before delivery. We open and check the boxes against the plan as the fit begins. The one exception is anything your supplier asks you to inspect on delivery, which you should check and report within their deadline.
What happens if parts of my kitchen are missing or damaged?
Missing or damaged parts are the supplier's to replace. We check the delivery against your plan and delivery note before fitting starts and tell you straight away if anything is short, broken or wrong, so you can raise it with the supplier while we re-plan the order of work. Units that do not depend on the missing part can often still go in, and sealed boxes make any claim simpler.
