What kind of kitchens do we fit in Prestatyn?

The housing mix across Clwyd includes Victorian terraces, stone cottages, seaside bungalows and post-war council-built houses, so no two kitchen fits are quite alike. Terraced houses in Wrexham and Rhyl often have a narrow back kitchen, while bungalows along the coast tend to have a compact square kitchen.

Hill villages, farm tracks and coastal flats without lifts can complicate deliveries, so the route for long worktops is checked when the kitchen is surveyed. Hardness varies across Clwyd, so check with your supplier; where water is softer, taps and boiling water taps suffer much less limescale.

Building regulations, electrics and gas in Prestatyn

In Wales a fit-only kitchen needs no planning permission, though a listed building may need listed building consent. The electrics are where Wales differs: extending an existing circuit within a kitchen is notifiable under Part P, as are new circuits, so even an extra socket for an appliance is certified through a competent person scheme or building control. Gas hobs are connected by Gas Safe registered engineers only, and extraction should meet Approved Document F.

A straightforward kitchen fit needs no planning permission, though listed buildings and conservation areas in older towns and villages may need consent for a new external vent.

Getting the most from your fit-only kitchen fitting

Book the fit for a date after the full delivery has arrived in Clwyd; a split delivery is a common reason for a fit stalling halfway.
Photograph each pallet and any damaged box as it arrives at your Prestatyn address, and note the damage on the delivery note before the driver leaves.
If you buy a worktop for a Prestatyn kitchen yourself, check its length covers the longest run plus enough spare for joints and end trims.
Check the order includes filler panels, end panels, plinths, cornice or light rail, and enough legs and plinth clips for every base unit.

Questions about fit-only kitchen fitting in Prestatyn

How much does fit-only kitchen fitting cost in Prestatyn?

Guide prices in Prestatyn are about £1,400 to £2,300 including VAT for a small kitchen of 5 to 10 units. The final price depends on the size of the kitchen and what is moving, and is set out in an itemised written quote.

Which parts of Prestatyn do you work in?

All of them. Our Clwyd coverage takes in the whole of Prestatyn, including the LL19 postcode district, as well as surrounding towns such as Rhyl. If you are unsure, send us your postcode.

What happens if parts of my kitchen are missing or damaged?

Missing or damaged parts are the supplier's to replace. We check the delivery against your plan and delivery note before fitting starts and tell you straight away if anything is short, broken or wrong, so you can raise it with the supplier while we re-plan the order of work. Units that do not depend on the missing part can often still go in, and sealed boxes make any claim simpler.

What does fit-only kitchen fitting not include?

It does not include stone worktops, new electrical circuits, moved plumbing, gas connections, tiling, flooring or plastering. Stone is templated and fitted by the stone supplier or fabricator once the base units are fixed. Fit only covers the labour for units, doors, panels, plinths and laminate worktops, with connections to the points already in place. Any of the extras can be added as separate lines on the same written quote.

Do I need to order anything extra for a fit-only job?

Often, yes. Retail plans regularly leave out filler panels, end panels, plinths, cornice or light rail, legs and plinth clips, worktop joint strips or connector bolts, appliance door-fixing kits and the sink, tap and waste. On the survey we go through your order line by line and list anything missing, so it can be ordered before the fit rather than halting it halfway through.
