Kitchens in homes around Llandudno

Typical homes in this part of Clwyd include Victorian terraces, stone cottages, seaside bungalows and post-war council-built houses. Terraced houses in Wrexham and Rhyl often have a narrow back kitchen, while bungalows along the coast tend to have a compact square kitchen.

Hill villages, farm tracks and coastal flats without lifts can complicate deliveries, so the route for long worktops is checked when the kitchen is surveyed. Hardness varies across Clwyd, so check with your supplier; where water is softer, taps and boiling water taps suffer much less limescale.

What rules apply to fit-only kitchen fitting in Llandudno?

In Wales a fit-only kitchen needs no planning permission, though a listed building may need listed building consent. The electrics are where Wales differs: extending an existing circuit within a kitchen is notifiable under Part P, as are new circuits, so even an extra socket for an appliance is certified through a competent person scheme or building control. Gas hobs are connected by Gas Safe registered engineers only, and extraction should meet Approved Document F.

A straightforward kitchen fit needs no planning permission, though listed buildings and conservation areas in older towns and villages may need consent for a new external vent.

Before you book fit-only kitchen fitting in Llandudno

Leave appliance manuals in their boxes; they give the housing sizes and ventilation gaps needed to install each appliance correctly in your Llandudno kitchen.
Ask your supplier for the full order list as well as the plan, so the fitter can check part numbers and not just unit sizes.
Order handles in the right quantity with one or two spares; doors and drawers cannot be finished without them, and missing handles hold up sign-off.
Do not open or assemble anything before the survey; sealed boxes make it far easier to claim missing or damaged parts from the supplier.

Questions about fit-only kitchen fitting in Llandudno

How much does fit-only kitchen fitting cost in Llandudno?

For a small kitchen of 5 to 10 units, budget around £1,400 to £2,300 including VAT in Llandudno. That reflects typical costs in Wales; we confirm the actual figure in writing once we have measured up.

Do you work near Llandudno as well?

Yes. As well as Llandudno itself, we cover the rest of Clwyd and nearby towns such as Colwyn Bay and Rhyl. The process is the same wherever the kitchen is.

What happens if parts of my kitchen are missing or damaged?

Missing or damaged parts are the supplier's to replace. We check the delivery against your plan and delivery note before fitting starts and tell you straight away if anything is short, broken or wrong, so you can raise it with the supplier while we re-plan the order of work. Units that do not depend on the missing part can often still go in, and sealed boxes make any claim simpler.

Should I unpack my kitchen before the fitter arrives?

No. Leave everything in its packaging until fitting day. Sealed boxes protect doors and panels from knocks and dust, keep small parts with the right unit, and show that any damage happened before delivery. We open and check the boxes against the plan as the fit begins. The one exception is anything your supplier asks you to inspect on delivery, which you should check and report within their deadline.

What does fit-only kitchen fitting not include?

It does not include stone worktops, new electrical circuits, moved plumbing, gas connections, tiling, flooring or plastering. Stone is templated and fitted by the stone supplier or fabricator once the base units are fixed. Fit only covers the labour for units, doors, panels, plinths and laminate worktops, with connections to the points already in place. Any of the extras can be added as separate lines on the same written quote.
