Supply and fit kitchens in Tiverton

Why do people in Tiverton choose supply and fit kitchens?

Busy households in Devon sometimes choose supply and fit because they have no time to compare carcass specifications, chase deliveries or book each trade separately.

Homeowners in Tiverton often choose supply and fit when they want one company to handle the kitchen from the first measurement to the last plinth. We cover all of Tiverton, including the EX16 postcode district, and travel out to neighbouring towns across Devon.

What is in a typical job?

Every kitchen is different, so we confirm the scope in writing. Most jobs of this kind include:

Delivery received by us and every item checked before fitting begins
Splashbacks, tiling, flooring and a final check together before handover
Strip-out, electrics, plumbing and gas work booked with qualified trades
Free survey visit with full measurements and a check of the services
Help choosing door styles, carcass construction, worktops, sinks and appliances
Layout design and specification included in the supply-and-fit price

What should you budget for supply and fit kitchens in Tiverton?

Typical supply and fit kitchens prices for homes in Tiverton, including VAT and adjusted for the South West. Your own figure depends on the size of the kitchen, the layout and what is moving. Costs in the South West sit close to the national guide.

House types around Tiverton and what they mean for a kitchen

The housing mix across Devon includes cob and thatched cottages, Victorian terraces, post-war houses and flats and seaside bungalows, so no two kitchen fits are quite alike. Victorian terraces in Exeter and Torbay often have a narrow back kitchen, while post-war houses and seaside bungalows usually have a square room that suits an L-shape.

Much of Devon has soft mains water, which is kind to taps and appliances, though some eastern parts are harder, so check with your supplier. Single-track lanes, steep town streets and cottages with no parking can make deliveries slow, so long worktops and tall units need a planned route into the house.

Building regulations, electrics and gas in Tiverton

A supplied and fitted kitchen needs no planning permission in England, except where listed building consent applies or a new vent is cut through the outside wall of a flat. New circuits and consumer units are notifiable under Part P and certified through a competent person scheme or building control. Cooker hoods are planned to meet Approved Document F, and gas hobs are connected by Gas Safe registered engineers.

Homes within Dartmoor or Exmoor national parks, listed thatched cottages and conservation areas may need consent before a new extractor vent goes through an outside wall.

Practical advice for Tiverton homeowners

Decide whether you want a boiling water tap or an induction hob before the plan is drawn, as each can need power or plumbing planned in.
Check that the written quote for your Tiverton kitchen lists units, worktops, appliances and each trade as separate lines, so any change is easy to price.
Ask for the lead time on your chosen range before setting a fitting date for your Tiverton home, as premium ranges can take several months.
Bespoke and made-to-measure kitchens typically take longer still, so allow for that if you are working towards a moving-in date.

Questions about supply and fit kitchens in Tiverton

How much do supply and fit kitchens cost in Tiverton?

Supply and fit kitchens in Tiverton typically cost £8,200 to £18,500 including VAT for a budget kitchen, supplied and fitted, based on prices in the South West. Larger or more involved jobs cost more, and your price is fixed in writing after a free survey visit.

Do you work near Tiverton as well?

Yes. As well as Tiverton itself, we cover the rest of Devon and nearby towns such as Exeter and Honiton. The process is the same wherever the kitchen is.

Is kitchen design included when you supply the kitchen?

Yes. The measured survey, layout plan and specification are part of the supply-and-fit price rather than a separate charge. You see the layout, door and worktop choices and appliance positions before ordering, and changes are made at the planning stage, when they are simple to redraw. The agreed plan is what we order from and what the fitters work to.

What are the payment terms for a supply and fit kitchen?

Payment terms are set out in your written quote before anything is ordered, so you know exactly what is due and at which stage. They depend on the range and the scope of work, and nothing is ordered until you have read and agreed them. If any part of the schedule is unclear, ask about it before you sign rather than after the order has been placed.

How long does a supplied kitchen take to arrive?

Roughly four to six weeks for budget ranges, six to ten weeks for mid-range and twelve to twenty weeks for premium ranges, counted from the order. Bespoke and made-to-measure kitchens typically take longer. Stone worktops are templated once the base units are fixed and fitted about one to two weeks later. We confirm the expected lead time for your chosen range before you commit to an order.
