Supply and fit kitchens in Penzance

Thinking about supply and fit kitchens in Penzance?

For a larger Penzance kitchen with an island or tall appliance housings, having the people who fit the kitchen also draw it cuts down surprises on fitting day.

When a Penzance kitchen is changing layout, with the sink, hob or appliances moving, supply and fit keeps the design and the trades in one plan. We cover all of Penzance, including the TR18 postcode district, and travel out to neighbouring towns across Cornwall.

Kitchens in homes around Penzance

Typical homes in this part of Cornwall include granite and slate cottages, Victorian terraces, post-war bungalows and converted barns. Older stone cottages often have a small, low-ceilinged kitchen with uneven walls, while post-war bungalows tend to have a square kitchen beside a separate dining area.

Narrow lanes, steep harbour streets and cottages with no parking outside can make delivering long worktops tricky, so delivery day needs planning in advance. Mains water across most of Cornwall is soft, which is kinder to taps and appliances, so heavy limescale build-up is rarely a problem.

Building regulations, electrics and gas in Penzance

A supplied and fitted kitchen needs no planning permission in England, except where listed building consent applies or a new vent is cut through the outside wall of a flat. New circuits and consumer units are notifiable under Part P and certified through a competent person scheme or building control. Cooker hoods are planned to meet Approved Document F, and gas hobs are connected by Gas Safe registered engineers.

Where a cottage is listed or sits in one of the many harbour-town conservation areas, consent may be needed before a new extractor vent is cut through an outside wall.

Tips before you start

Check that the written quote for your Penzance kitchen lists units, worktops, appliances and each trade as separate lines, so any change is easy to price.
Decide whether you want a boiling water tap or an induction hob before the plan is drawn, as each can need power or plumbing planned in.
Leave room in the budget for smaller extras such as under-cabinet lighting, a plinth heater or extra sockets that come up once the layout is settled.
Choose appliances before the design is finalised, as their sizes decide housing widths, tall unit heights and where sockets and isolators go.

Questions about supply and fit kitchens in Penzance

How much do supply and fit kitchens cost in Penzance?

Guide prices in Penzance are about £8,200 to £18,500 including VAT for a budget kitchen, supplied and fitted. The final price depends on the size of the kitchen and what is moving, and is set out in an itemised written quote.

Can you measure up in Penzance before quoting?

Yes. Every quote starts with a free, no-obligation survey visit to your home in Penzance. We measure the room, check the walls, floor and service positions, then send an itemised written quote.

Can I choose my own appliances with a supply and fit kitchen?

Yes. You can choose appliances through us as part of the specification or buy them yourself. If you buy them, send us the model details before the design is finalised, so housings, ventilation gaps, door-fixing kits and power points are planned around them. Any manufacturer cover on appliances you buy stays with you and the retailer you bought them from.

How long does a supplied kitchen take to arrive?

Roughly four to six weeks for budget ranges, six to ten weeks for mid-range and twelve to twenty weeks for premium ranges, counted from the order. Bespoke and made-to-measure kitchens typically take longer. Stone worktops are templated once the base units are fixed and fitted about one to two weeks later. We confirm the expected lead time for your chosen range before you commit to an order.

Who is responsible if a supplied part is wrong or damaged?

We are. Because we order the kitchen and take delivery, we check every item against the plan and deal with the supplier directly if anything is missing, damaged or wrong. You do not have to chase a retailer while a fitter waits on site. If a replacement affects the timetable, we tell you and re-plan the order of work around it.
