What kind of kitchens do we fit in Merthyr Tydfil?

The housing mix across Mid Glamorgan includes valley terraces, post-war council-built houses, seaside bungalows and new-build estates, so no two kitchen fits are quite alike. Valley terraces often have a narrow kitchen in a rear extension, while post-war houses in towns such as Bridgend tend to have a compact room beside the dining area.

Steep valley streets and terraces built into hillsides can mean steps, tight turns and limited parking, so carrying long worktops is planned at the survey. Soft water is usual across Mid Glamorgan, so limescale is less of a concern and taps and boiling water taps tend to stay cleaner.

Do you need approval for supply and fit kitchens in Merthyr Tydfil?

In Wales, a new kitchen needs no planning permission; a listed building may need listed building consent, and a new outside vent from a flat may need planning permission. Because extending an existing circuit within a kitchen is notifiable in Wales, the electrics for almost any new layout are certified through a competent person scheme or building control. Extraction is designed to Approved Document F, and gas connections are made by Gas Safe registered engineers only.

The northern fringe of the area falls within Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, and listed buildings or conservation areas may need consent for new external vents.

Practical advice for Merthyr Tydfil homeowners

If you are redecorating as well, judge paint colours against the door samples in your own kitchen light in Mid Glamorgan, not under bright shop lighting.
Decide whether you want a boiling water tap or an induction hob before the plan is drawn, as each can need power or plumbing planned in.
Bring photos of kitchens you like to the survey; they help turn a general idea into specific door styles, colours and worktop choices.
Carcass construction matters as much as the doors: ask about board thickness, back panels and whether units arrive rigid or flat-pack.

Questions about supply and fit kitchens in Merthyr Tydfil

How much do supply and fit kitchens cost in Merthyr Tydfil?

For a budget kitchen, supplied and fitted, budget around £7,400 to £16,600 including VAT in Merthyr Tydfil. That reflects typical costs in Wales; we confirm the actual figure in writing once we have measured up.

Can you measure up in Merthyr Tydfil before quoting?

Yes. Every quote starts with a free, no-obligation survey visit to your home in Merthyr Tydfil. We measure the room, check the walls, floor and service positions, then send an itemised written quote.

What are the payment terms for a supply and fit kitchen?

Payment terms are set out in your written quote before anything is ordered, so you know exactly what is due and at which stage. They depend on the range and the scope of work, and nothing is ordered until you have read and agreed them. If any part of the schedule is unclear, ask about it before you sign rather than after the order has been placed.

Is kitchen design included when you supply the kitchen?

Yes. The measured survey, layout plan and specification are part of the supply-and-fit price rather than a separate charge. You see the layout, door and worktop choices and appliance positions before ordering, and changes are made at the planning stage, when they are simple to redraw. The agreed plan is what we order from and what the fitters work to.

Who is responsible if a supplied part is wrong or damaged?

We are. Because we order the kitchen and take delivery, we check every item against the plan and deal with the supplier directly if anything is missing, damaged or wrong. You do not have to chase a retailer while a fitter waits on site. If a replacement affects the timetable, we tell you and re-plan the order of work around it.
