Supply and fit kitchens in Bodmin

Who usually needs supply and fit kitchens in Bodmin?

If you are planning a new kitchen for your Bodmin home and have not yet chosen a range, a survey first means the design starts from real measurements.

For a larger Bodmin kitchen with an island or tall appliance housings, having the people who fit the kitchen also draw it cuts down surprises on fitting day. We work throughout Bodmin (PL31) and across the wider Cornwall area.

What is included in the work?

Your written quote lists everything included. For supply and fit kitchens, that normally means:

Free survey visit with full measurements and a check of the services
Units, panels, plinths, worktops and fixings ordered to the agreed plan
Layout design and specification included in the supply-and-fit price
Units, worktops, sink and appliances fitted, with stone templated after the base units
Delivery received by us and every item checked before fitting begins
Splashbacks, tiling, flooring and a final check together before handover

Kitchens in homes around Bodmin

In and around Bodmin, homes range across granite and slate cottages, Victorian terraces, post-war bungalows and converted barns. Older stone cottages often have a small, low-ceilinged kitchen with uneven walls, while post-war bungalows tend to have a square kitchen beside a separate dining area.

Mains water across most of Cornwall is soft, which is kinder to taps and appliances, so heavy limescale build-up is rarely a problem. Narrow lanes, steep harbour streets and cottages with no parking outside can make delivering long worktops tricky, so delivery day needs planning in advance.

Do you need approval for supply and fit kitchens in Bodmin?

A supplied and fitted kitchen needs no planning permission in England, except where listed building consent applies or a new vent is cut through the outside wall of a flat. New circuits and consumer units are notifiable under Part P and certified through a competent person scheme or building control. Cooker hoods are planned to meet Approved Document F, and gas hobs are connected by Gas Safe registered engineers.

Where a cottage is listed or sits in one of the many harbour-town conservation areas, consent may be needed before a new extractor vent is cut through an outside wall.

Practical advice for Bodmin homeowners

Ask to see samples of the door, carcass and worktop materials before ordering, so you know exactly what will be delivered to Bodmin.
If your Bodmin home is older, ask whether walls and floors need preparing before fitting, as that work is easier to price at the design stage.
Ask for the lead time on your chosen range before setting a fitting date for your Bodmin home, as premium ranges can take several months.
Settle the specification before the order is placed, because changing doors, worktops or layout afterwards can add cost and several weeks.

Questions about supply and fit kitchens in Bodmin

How much do supply and fit kitchens cost in Bodmin?

Supply and fit kitchens in Bodmin typically cost £8,200 to £18,500 including VAT for a budget kitchen, supplied and fitted, based on prices in the South West. Larger or more involved jobs cost more, and your price is fixed in writing after a free survey visit.

Which parts of Bodmin do you work in?

All of them. Our Cornwall coverage takes in the whole of Bodmin, including the PL31 postcode district, as well as surrounding towns such as St Austell. If you are unsure, send us your postcode.

Can I choose my own appliances with a supply and fit kitchen?

Yes. You can choose appliances through us as part of the specification or buy them yourself. If you buy them, send us the model details before the design is finalised, so housings, ventilation gaps, door-fixing kits and power points are planned around them. Any manufacturer cover on appliances you buy stays with you and the retailer you bought them from.

Is kitchen design included when you supply the kitchen?

Yes. The measured survey, layout plan and specification are part of the supply-and-fit price rather than a separate charge. You see the layout, door and worktop choices and appliance positions before ordering, and changes are made at the planning stage, when they are simple to redraw. The agreed plan is what we order from and what the fitters work to.

Who is responsible if a supplied part is wrong or damaged?

We are. Because we order the kitchen and take delivery, we check every item against the plan and deal with the supplier directly if anything is missing, damaged or wrong. You do not have to chase a retailer while a fitter waits on site. If a replacement affects the timetable, we tell you and re-plan the order of work around it.
