House types around Llanelli and what they mean for a kitchen

The housing mix across Dyfed includes stone cottages, Victorian terraces, farmhouses and post-war bungalows, so no two kitchen fits are quite alike. Stone cottages and farmhouses often have a small kitchen in a rear extension, while terraces in Llanelli and Aberystwyth tend to have a narrow galley at the back.

Mains water across most of Dyfed is soft, so limescale is rarely a big problem, though farms on private supplies may need their own filtering. Rural farm tracks, steep coastal lanes and long distances between villages can affect delivery vehicles, so worktop lengths and timing need planning ahead.

Regulations for kitchen work in Llanelli

In Wales a fit-only kitchen needs no planning permission, though a listed building may need listed building consent. The electrics are where Wales differs: extending an existing circuit within a kitchen is notifiable under Part P, as are new circuits, so even an extra socket for an appliance is certified through a competent person scheme or building control. Gas hobs are connected by Gas Safe registered engineers only, and extraction should meet Approved Document F.

Homes in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park or Bannau Brycheiniog, listed cottages and conservation areas may need consent for a new external vent or historic alterations.

Getting the most from your fit-only kitchen fitting

Before your kitchen is delivered to your Llanelli home, clear a dry room to store the boxes flat, away from damp garages and outbuildings.
Book the fit for a date after the full delivery has arrived in Dyfed; a split delivery is a common reason for a fit stalling halfway.
Keep using the old kitchen until fitting day if you can, and ask for its removal and disposal to be priced on the same quote.
Worktop joint strips or connector bolts, appliance door-fixing kits and the sink, tap and waste are easy to leave off an order.

Questions about fit-only kitchen fitting in Llanelli

How much does fit-only kitchen fitting cost in Llanelli?

Fit-only kitchen fitting in Llanelli typically costs £1,400 to £2,300 including VAT for a small kitchen of 5 to 10 units, based on prices in Wales. Larger or more involved jobs cost more, and your price is fixed in writing after a free survey visit.

Do you cover all of Llanelli?

Yes. We work across Llanelli, including the SA15 postcode district, and nearby towns such as Swansea and Ammanford. Book a free survey visit and we will arrange a time that suits you.

Should I unpack my kitchen before the fitter arrives?

No. Leave everything in its packaging until fitting day. Sealed boxes protect doors and panels from knocks and dust, keep small parts with the right unit, and show that any damage happened before delivery. We open and check the boxes against the plan as the fit begins. The one exception is anything your supplier asks you to inspect on delivery, which you should check and report within their deadline.

What happens if parts of my kitchen are missing or damaged?

Missing or damaged parts are the supplier's to replace. We check the delivery against your plan and delivery note before fitting starts and tell you straight away if anything is short, broken or wrong, so you can raise it with the supplier while we re-plan the order of work. Units that do not depend on the missing part can often still go in, and sealed boxes make any claim simpler.

Do I need to order anything extra for a fit-only job?

Often, yes. Retail plans regularly leave out filler panels, end panels, plinths, cornice or light rail, legs and plinth clips, worktop joint strips or connector bolts, appliance door-fixing kits and the sink, tap and waste. On the survey we go through your order line by line and list anything missing, so it can be ordered before the fit rather than halting it halfway through.
